Recycling buildings is not just the right thing to do environmentally & economically, it's become a distinct trend. During my studies at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens, we were asked to do research & provide the relevant designs for a renovation of an old factory in the centre of Athens. A parallel change of use was mandatory. The location & the materials of the building lead us to the creation of an alternative theatrical stage. The entire project's philosophy indicates the demonstration of the construction of the building, while the interior design involves a minimal approach. The design of the stage & the placement of the -in most cases, portable- seatings in a circlular formation, were means of emphasizing on the theatrical "Drama".
